Palm Springs to host first Extreme Heat Summit, bringing together experts on climate resilience ⋆ The Palm Springs Post (thepalmspringspost.com) — Palm Springs is hosting its first Extreme Heat Summit on September 18 at the Convention Center, bringing experts and residents together to tackle rising temperatures and climate resilience. City leaders will discuss local heat records, shade and cooling projects, funding opportunities, and practical strategies residents can use to advocate for cooler, safer neighborhoods.
2. 'Pet Star Photo Contest' Underway In Greater Palm Springs Area (patch.com) — Palm Springs pet lovers can enter their animals in the Pet Star Photo Contest, which raises money for Greater Palm Springs Animal Allies and the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. Entries cost $25, voting is $1 per vote, and proceeds support homeless pets, injured wildlife, and pet-owner services across the Coachella Valley through September 30.
3. Special: Mizell Center Presents - Stephanie J Block Live In… (broadwayworld.com) — A Tony Award–winning Broadway star is headed to the Palm Springs Cultural Center for a one-night-only concert on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026, with tickets now on sale. The Stephanie J. Block show benefits Mizell Center programs, including its Valley-wide Meals on Wheels service, and is recommended for ages 18 and up. Expect a high-energy evening celebrating live musical theater.
4. Odalys Nanin Keeps the Faith in Love with Love and Other Devastations at Cinema Diverse (hollywoodtimes.net) — Palm Springs film fans can catch Odalys Nanin's new short Love and Other Devastations during Cinema Diverse, running September 17–27 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. The film, screening September 25, centers Latina lesbian love and heartbreak, adding to a festival lineup that celebrates LGBTQ+ stories and offers Q&As, networking, and community connection.
