PALM SPRINGS, CA — A nonprofit organization will host its fourth annual anti-bullying event in Palm Springs, featuring wellness resources, a celebrity kickball game and other family-friendly activities next month.
Boo2Bullying will host "Kick Bullying to the Curb" wellness festival from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 10 at Power Stadium, 1901 E. Baristo Road. The celebrity kickball game will be held at 6 p.m.
"A young person who knows they matter is better equipped to speak up, ask for help and stand up for someone else," Dimitri Halkidis, founder of Boo2Bullying, said in a statement. "This festival takes that message beyond the classroom and puts it into action across the entire community. We want every child who walks through the gates to leave feeling stronger, more connected and absolutely certain that they are not alone."
Festivities will include music by DJ Ace Boom, California mobile zoo, face-painting, kids activities and a performance by the Palm Springs High School cheer squad, along with resources from local school, nonprofit organizations, healthcare organizations and other community partners.
The event aims to bring people together to promote kindness, teamwork and community connection, officials said.
Additionally, the festival will honor student winners from James Workman Middle School during a special "Teens Off Your Screens" ceremony. The ceremony will recognize three student award recipients who participated in the initiative's pilot program.
Organizers said the nonprofit has empowered more than 25,000 young individuals through school assemblies, youth leadership programs, workshops and outreach.
