Grant helps Palm Springs Woman's Club boost scholarship efforts (desertsun.com) โ Palm Springs students could see more help paying for four-year colleges thanks to a new Youth Grantmakers Committee Fund grant supporting the Palm Springs Woman's Club scholarship program. The club, which closely partners with Palm Springs High School, already supports 16 students and has awarded more than $400,000 since 2009, with new teas, luncheons and programs starting this season.

Modernism Week to kick off next week with over 50 activities (kesq.com) โ Next week, Palm Springs will host Modernism Week's fall edition, bringing more than 50 tours, talks and experiences celebrating midcentury design from October 15โ18. Residents can explore local neighborhoods, historic homes, film screenings and walking tours, with part of ticket sales benefiting preservation and community groups.

Cathedral City's Agua Caliente Fuel to open soon (desertsun.com) โ Palm Springs drivers already benefiting from low prices at the Agua Caliente Fuel station on Highway 111 may soon see more relief as a new Cathedral City tribal gas station opens Oct. 15. The Palm Springs location has been in a price war with nearby Walmart Fuel, keeping regular gas well below California's average and among the cheapest in the Coachella Valley.
