Following the discussion, Wiedlin will perform a limited number of songs and participate in a book signing.

Wiedlin is a singer-songwriter, actress and author best known as a founding member, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist of the Go-Go's. The all-female rock band emerged from the punk and new wave scenes of the late 1970s and early 1980s, earning hits with songs including "We Got the Beat," and "Our Lips Are Sealed."

The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.

In her memoir, Wiedlin explores her childhood, personal tragedies, mental health struggles, relationships and experiences in the music industry. Publisher Da Capo describes the book as "a vivid account of rock excess and Hollywood drama."

The Greater Palm Springs Animal Allies also will attend the event and asked guests to bring donations of pet food in recognition of Wiedlin's commitment to dogs and animal welfare, organizers said.

Additional speakers for the upcoming season will be announced at a later date.
