PALM SPRINGS, CA — Motorists traveling along South Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs should expect lane closures beginning early Tuesday, Nov. 3, as construction continues on the South Palm Canyon Bridge Project, the city announced on Thursday.
Lane closures are scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. north of East Sunny Dunes Road to allow crews to deliver and replant palm trees as part of the bridge project, the city said.
Despite the construction activity, businesses in the project area will remain open and accessible, the agency said, encouraging residents and visitors to continue supporting local businesses.
In addition, a Stage 3 traffic shift is planned for mid-November, the city said.
The bridge project remains on schedule for completion in late 2026.
Drivers were advised to follow posted traffic signs, reduce their speed and allow additional travel time when passing through the construction zone.
