2026 marks the 50th year since Women were first admitted to the Service Academies. MyLinh Shattan, a Vietnamese-American 1991 graduate of West Point, will discuss her recent memoir, “Raising Athena”, in which she chronicles her escape from Saigon in 1975 and her West Point experience. “Raising Athena” tells the story of MyLinh Shattan and her daughter, Cara, both of whom choose to pursue military careers at West Point, separated by three decades.
