3-Story Structure Fire Burning In Nearby Redwood City

BREAKING: Crews are working from outside building due to fears it may collapse.

REDWOOD CITY, CA – A three-alarm fire is burning a three-story structure this afternoon in Redwood City, fire officials said on Twitter.

The fire was reported on Twitter at 2:44 p.m. at 651 Vista Drive.

Firefighters are working from outside rather than inside the building to extinguish the fire because firefighters fear parts of the building may collapse, according to fire officials.

Crews from Menlo park and Woodside are assisting, officials said.

As of approximately 4 p.m., San Mateo officials reported that Vista Drive is closed between Oak Knoll Drive and Oakview Way in the unincorporated area of Redwood City as emergency Crews battle the fire. Nearby streets are blocked by fire trucks, and the deputies did not know when the roadways would reopen.
