PALO ALTO, CA — Crews are scheduled to install stamped-asphalt crosswalks on California Avenue over the next week as part of ongoing street improvements, according to the city.
The work is planned for Wednesday through Friday, as well as next Monday.
The work follows pavement replacement earlier this month between El Camino Real and Birch Street. Crosswalk installation involves reheating the roadway surface, which the city says will produce minimal noise and a minor asphalt odor.
Residents and businesses should watch for posted parking restrictions around construction areas.
The city says "No Parking" signs will be placed three days before work begins.
Some driveways may temporarily close during construction. Affected residents will be notified if access to their driveway needs to be restricted.
According to the city, general construction hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on local and residential streets and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on collector and arterial streets.
Work dates may change because of weather or other delays.
Questions can be directed to Public Works Engineering Services at 650-329-2295 or pwecips@paloalto.gov.
Residents can check the city's current street projects page for construction notices and schedule updates.
