Comparing with conventional shopping, it eliminates impulsive buying and transport cost. Ordering of goods is done with an informed mind while reading the reviews of other shoppers who had had firsthand experience with a retailer or product. Internet shopping is a very good way of making discreet purchases. Some items are better done in the privacy of home; things like adult toys, sexy underwear, and so on.

Despite its flexibility and aforementioned benefits, consumers still have their reservations about the Online Shopping; they are skeptical about getting value for money or a refund for a bad product. Even as a consumer you know what you are going for. Moreover, going through the terms and conditions of the online shopping mall, customers would have a fair knowledge of what they are bargaining for. Most of them would specify the period a return could be made; or under which circumstance replacement or repair of a faulty item could be done.

It is worthy to note that the consumers hold similar rights for goods and services bought online, just like the purchase made conventionally. Buyers can make a claim for a refund, repair or replacement when the commodity bought failed to meet the required or expected standards:

1. Satisfactory Quality: Items purchased should not be damaged or faulty as at when received. It should be in the expected good condition.
2. Fit for Purpose: Goods bought should serve the advertised purpose(s). There should be no room for deception.
3. As Prescribed or Described: Every purchased commodity must meet its description and specification. It should not be a matter of close substitute.

If a service provided online failed to meet with the agreed skill or standard; the seller must review the service and perform his task accordingly within a stipulated time, as agreed with the customer. If this is not possible, there should be a refund.

Even though more and more business is moving online these days, there should still be a level of customer satisfaction to uphold.
