Armed Suspect Sexual Assaulted Jogger Near Stanford Campus, Remains At Large: Police
University police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who attacked a female jogger near campus, officials said.
STANFORD, CA — Stanford University police are searching for a man with a gun who sexually assaulted a jogger near the campus on Sunday evening, officials said.
The incident was reported to the Stanford Department of Public Safety at around 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, two hours after the assault took place at around 6:15 p.m. in the general vicinity of Mayfield Avenue and Santa Ynez Street, police said.
A woman who was jogging reported that she was grabbed by a man with a gun, pushed into a landscaped area near a house, and sexually assaulted, according to the Stanford Department of Public Safety.

The victim described the suspect as a darker-skinned man with brown eyes, clean-shaven and short hair. He was wearing a light blue hoodie, dark jeans and a thick braided bracelet on his left wrist, police said.
The victim also reported that the man had a semi-automatic handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants, police said.

Since the incident, a spokesperson told KRON4 that security on campus has been increased.
