Burglary Suspect Believed To Be Barricaded Inside Palo Alto Home
The incident is unfolding on Elsinore Drive.

Police have surrounded a Palo Alto home this afternoon after a burglary suspect barricaded himself inside, police said.
Palo Alto police issued a statement at 3:09 p.m. indicating they had surrounded a home in the 900 block of Elsinore Drive.
An elderly resident in her 90s was initially inside the home with the suspect but was later able to get out and is safe, according to police.

Police said they don’t know if the suspect is armed and that they’re working to resolve the situation safely.
The department reported at approximately 4:30 p.m. that residents may see the Bomb Squad at the scene, however wished to reassure locals that there are no bombs involved. The squad is assisting officers by providing other resources, police said.

Louis Road is shut down between Oregon Expressway and North California Avenue, the police said.
