Join us for a 90-minute hands-on workshop where you’ll craft two beautiful notebooks using traditional Japanese stab binding — a timeless technique with a single thread that never retraces its path. We’ll start with a classic five-hole binding, then proceed to the more intricate hemp leaf binding. Finally, we will decorate the cover with Japanese patterns. No experience needed, just bring your curiosity. This is a class you should not miss!

A captivating speaker, Gilles also presents full-evening lectures with live performance excerpts. In this September 18 installment, he traces Beethoven's remarkable journey from the Classical elegance and confidence of the op. 14 and op. 22 sonatas to the monumental Hammerklavier, one of the most technically demanding works ever written for the piano.
