Commuter Train Strikes Vehicle In Palo Alto: Caltrain
Breaking: Riders were advised to expect delays.

PALO ALTO, CA -- A commuter train struck a vehicle on the tracks in Palo Alto Thursday afternoon, according to Caltrain officials.
Caltrain reported the strike involving northbound train No. 151 at Churchill Avenue at 1:44 p.m., prompting Caltrains to deboard passengers from the train.
Commuters on northbound train Nos. 155 and 257 were also advised via Twitter to expect delays, as were passengers on southbound train No. 150.

The vehicle was unoccupied at the time, according to Palo Alto police. It had apparently stalled on the tracks.

First responders were on scene, according to Caltrain.

There were no initial reports of injuries.
Commuter delays of 45 minutes to an hour have been reported.
The Churchill Avenue grade was closed by the strike, but it had reopened by 2:52 p.m., according to police.
