Masterworks Chorale 51st Season Finale - Les Misérables as you have never heard it, in a newly staged concert version!

Do you hear the people sing? We are singing the songs of Les Misérables! Join Masterworks as we present this world-renowned musical in a semi-concert production with principal roles played by some of the Bay Area’s favorite artists. Performances are Saturday, May 30 at 8pm and Sunday, May 31 at 4pm, at Congregational Church of San Mateo, 225 Tilton Avenue, San Mateo.

Adapted to English in 1985, Les Misérables began its journey into the hearts of Americans when it opened on Broadway in 1987. It closed over 6,600 shows later and still remains the 5th longest running Broadway show in history. It has also had 2 more revivals on Broadway, including one that is running right now, as well as countless national tours and concert productions. It was launched into a new fan base in 2012 with the release of the major motion picture. The iconic solos, memorable characters, and heart-pumping choruses are why this production has maintained its relevance for 30 years. The musical’s theme is hope: hope for an easier life, hope for a better tomorrow, and hope for a brighter future.

Come “hear the people sing” rousing choruses as you have never heard them. Masterworks Chorale welcomes a cast of incredible soloists, performed with keyboards and percussion. The members of Masterworks stretch their acting muscles as students, beggars, and French revolutionaries all while maintaining the choral excellence you have come to know and love. This is a performance not to be missed!
