Don't Miss Palo Alto's 'National Night Out' 2018

Free pizza and popcorn, plus meet-and-greets with police officers tonight!

PALO ALTO, CA – This year's National Night Out, the annual evening to promote police partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, is planned for today, Tuesday, Aug. 7, and the Palo Alto Police Department is hosting an event for local residents from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in front of the station.

Millions of neighbors in thousands of communities across the U.S. take part in National Night Out, started in 1984, on the first Tuesday in August with block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and often with such activities as safety demonstrations and visits from emergency personnel.

In Palo Alto on Forest Avenue in front of the police station, families can meet officers, see law enforcement vehicles and enjoy free popcorn and pizza.
