Eighteen Woodland School Students Awarded in Portola Valley Poetry Contest

Eighteen Woodland Students in Kindergarten through seventh-grade received awards in the 17th Annual Portola Valley Poetry Contest.

Eighteen Woodland Students in Kindergarten through seventh-grade received awards in the 17th Annual Portola Valley Poetry Contest, sweeping success at the K-8 level.

The contest is open to all Kindergarten through twelfth-grade students enrolled in a Portola Valley school or are residents of Portola Valley. This year the library received a total of 329 submissions in the K-8 level, the fourth highest number of submissions in the past eight years.

A poetry reading and reception will be held in the Portola Valley Community Hall, 765 Portola Road on Monday, May 16, 2016. For K-5 entrants and their friends and family, the event begins at 6:00 pm. For 6– 12 grade entrants and their friends and family, the event begins at 7:30 pm.
