Registration for the sixth annual Marsh Madness 5k/10k and ½ marathon run/walk is now officially open at www.marshmadnessrun.net. Marsh Madness is a joint partnership of the Palo Alto Family YMCA and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
The event takes place at Palo Alto Baylands on Saturday, Oct. 27. It was created 6 years ago to raise funds and awareness for growing youth health challenges and combat the youth obesity epidemic. Marsh Madness is a professionally timed event on a USA Track and Field (USATF) certified course, and is part of the Palo Alto Grand Prix Series.
The event begins at 8:00 a.m., with the 5K run/walk starting at 9:20 a.m. and the 10K run/walk beginning at 9:00 a.m, and the half marathon starting at 8:30 a.m. After the walk and run, participants can stay for the post-race expo for free food, live music and awards.
