Bring your broken items ... or bring your repair know how.
This gathering of volunteers is ready to fix broken items. The cafe grew out of similar "cafes" in the Nederlands. Our first Palo Alto cafe (also in the country) happened last fall.
We repaired about 120 items from computers, clothing, lamps, mowers, blenders, microwaves. The volunteers were pretty diverse, and seemed to enjoy therepair challenge as much as the beneficiaries. Think of a farmers market but focused on repair - it was quite fun!

The Repair Cafe has relied upon the generosity of the The Museum of American Heritage. MOAH has provided us the perfect venue for hosting a Repair Cafe. Palo Alto Ace Hardware has also offered enthusiastic staff and supplies for these Cafes. And finally we were supported by Peets, who of course made sure the cafe had its requisite coffee.
