Ex-Palo Alto High Robotics Coach Files $450K Lawsuit: Report
Kathleen Krier is seeking at least $450,000 in damages plus attorney fees according to the report.
PALO ALTO, CA — A former Palo Alto High School robotics coach and computer science teacher has filed a lawsuit against the Palo Alto Unified School District, Palo Alto Weekly reports.
Kathleen Krier’s complaint alleges that she was discriminated against based on her gender and sexual orientation and that she experienced harassment that the District failed to address according to the report. Krier identifies as a lesbian.
She is seeking at least $450,000 in damages plus attorney fees, the report said.

"PAUSD, through its officers, directors, managing agents, or supervisory employees, intentionally created or knowingly permitted working conditions to exist that were so intolerable that a reasonable person in (Krier's) position would have had no reasonable alternative except to resign," the lawsuit states, according to the report.
Krier "resigned because of those working conditions."

Krier resigned from her position in October of 2018 after being placed on administrative leave after complaints about her behavior surfaced, the report said.
Krier also filed a separate lawsuit earlier this month listing eight parents of robotics students among 4o unnamed defendants alleging their complaints that led to her being placed on administrative leave interfered with her employment, the report said. She is seeking $600,000 in damages plus legal costs in this case.
