To celebrate, the luggage and travel retailer is giving away a complimentary gift card with every purchase of $150 or more and hosting a packing workshop, run by one of their expert packers, who will provide shoppers with tips on how to get two weeks worth of clothing into a carry-on suitcase.

Construction for Stanford Shopping Center began in 1954, at the corner of El Camino Real and San Francisquito Creek. Two years later, the center was complete with its first restaurant, Blum’s, opening on Oct. 22, 1956. Anchoring the mall was West Coast department store, The Emporium and high-end specialty department store I. Magnin & Co.

Of the original 45 mall stores anchored at the center in 1956, See’s Candy, Gleim the Jeweler, Edwards Everything Travel and Bank of America still remain. Although these retailers have changed since they first opened, they are still thriving businesses at Stanford Shopping Center.

Currently, Stanford Shopping Center is home to more than 140 specialty stores in 1.5 million square feet of space, ranging from luxury brands, including Hermès and Cartier, to local favorites. Guests can also enjoy an exceptional mix of restaurants and cafes, including the recently added True Food Kitchen, Minamoto Kitchoan, Tender Greens, 3 Potato 4 and Go Fish Poke Bar.
