Heading To Palo Alto Festival Of Arts? What You Need To Know About Street Closures, Parking

Remember, the Caltrain station is only two blocks from the festival, AND Palo Alto's Crosstown Shuttle will be operating! Enjoy!

PALO ALTO, CA – Your traffic and parking advisory from the Palo Alto Police Department and organizers for the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts:

The annual Palo Alto Festival of the Arts returns to downtown this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 27-28. Expect significant traffic delays and please budget extra time if you need to travel around the area.

Beginning in the very early morning hours of Saturday, Aug, 27, University Avenue will be closed between High Street and Webster Street, and will remain closed until about 11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28.

Streets running north and south between Hamilton Avenue and Lytton Avenue will also be closed to through traffic during the same time frame, though Cowper Street and Emerson Street will remain open during the overnight hours on Saturday night to allow north-south traffic to pass.

FREE parking is within a block or two of the festival site, but festival attendees are encouraged to use public transit.

For GPS users: Type in 340 University Ave Palo Alto. This will bring you to the center of the festival which takes place between High and Webster streets.

This year, tens of thousands of people are expected to visit the Festival of the Arts, which features more than 300 artists, street painting, activities for kids and more.

The festival is open between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
