Local Student Headed to College with Help of Stanford Shopping Center
The recipient is Asaf Katzir, a graduate of Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto, to study at USC with help of SYF Community Scholarship.

Stanford Shopping Center, a Simon center, today announced its local college scholarship winner. Simon Youth Foundation (SYF), a national nonprofit that champions educational opportunities for students of all backgrounds, provides the scholarship. Each year, SYF awards a scholarship to a deserving student that lives within 50 miles of a Simon property.
The recipient is Asaf Katzir, a graduate of Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto. Katzir plans to study at the University of Southern California this fall with the help of this Simon Youth Foundation Community Scholarship. This is $1,500 scholarship awarded to individuals based on academic achievement, financial need and leadership involvement at school as well as within their surrounding community.
“Simon Youth Foundation is a national organization, but we can feel the benefit of its efforts right here at home,” said Julie Kelly, director of marketing and business development at Stanford Shopping Center. “We are incredibly proud to award this scholarship to Asaf.”
