In the 12s Allstar Tournament, PALL Americans and San Carlos Americans play their hearts out

July 4, Ford Field, Portola Valley. On our nation's birthday, two American league teams from separate towns played a game for the ages in the youth version of the country's top pastime we call Little League. It couldn't have been drawn up any better. The 10 inning epic battle ran the emotional gamut far beyond anyone's expectations and completely drained everyone watching, playing, or coaching. PALL's starting pitcher Danny Peters threw the game of his LL career, striking out 7 and kept San Carlos to 2 runs. Callum Olsen matched Peters with 7 K's of his own over 5 scoreless innings. Peters also led PA with 3 hits with Eugend Kim adding the tying RBI.

PALL defense rose to the moment after a their fatal bunt attempt with a runner on third in the top of the 6th. Play after play followed keeping the game tied. An amazing throw from right fielder Dylan Santos in the bottom of the 6th, almost nailed a San Carlos runner tagging up at home that would of won the game for San Carlos if not for the runner leaving third early. Other outfield plays included diving catches by Ted Jung and Vijay Holman who also assisted in gunning down another San Carlos runner at home. Brian Lee and Jake Foster added to the defensive display. Thomas Rimsa anchored the infield defense with several tough catches preserving the tie until the 10th.

Peters and Olsen threw 15 and 16 first strikes respectively, almost matching San Carlos' Henry O.'s 17. Combined with devastating curveball proved to be too much keeping the PALL bats quiet for the last 5 innings. In the bottom of the 10th, San Carlos knocked in the winning run with a line drive to the centerfield fence scoring the winning run.

"So many great plays that kept the game close and determination to win shown by our boys; those are the memories that I'll keep for a long, long time. I couldn't be more proud. GO PA AMERICAN!!!" commented manager Joe Adams. After the pain subsides, this game will be long remembered for the PALL American's effort, persistence, and teamwork...everything Little League embodies.
