Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Downtown Palo Alto Sexual Battery
A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery, police said.
PALO ALTO, CA — A 33-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a sexual battery reported in downtown Palo Alto last month, police said.
The Palo Alto Police Department said the incident occurred about 2 a.m. Feb. 19 in the 200 block of University Avenue. A woman in her 50s told officers she was sleeping with her belongings nearby when she awoke to a man reportedly touching her.
The suspect fled after she sat up, police said.

Detectives later identified the suspect as Dylan Dotson, 33, of San Jose.
Investigators located Dotson in Palo Alto on Tuesday and arrested him.

Dotson, who police said is on parole for criminal threats, was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for a parole violation and sexual battery.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office filed one misdemeanor count of sexual battery March 5.
