Silicon Valley Photographers Spotlight Cuba

A group of Silicon Valley photographers traveled to Cuba to capture images of the island and its people.

Few Americans have traveled to Cuba. Our vision of the country is generally grim images from TV news footage.

But a group of Silicon Valley photographers returned from the island nation with a very different opinion. “What struck each of us was the open-heartedness and resilience of the Cuban people,” said Foothill Photography Professor Ron Herman who led the expedition. “Despite daunting everyday challenges, Cubans display their huge hearts and upbeat spirit in everything they do.”

An exhibit of 39 photographs from that visit is on display at the Krause Center for Innovation Gallery, Foothill College, through Jan. 16.
