UPDATE: TUESDAY, SEPT, 27, 1:20 p.m. PALO ALTO, CA – A lockdown has been lifted at a Stanford Shopping Center department store in Palo Alto, and officers have in custody a road-rage suspect sought since this morning, police said.

The man was detained near Stanford Hospital, the Palo Alto Police Department reported this afternoon.

Police were searching for the man, who allegedly brandished what may have been a handgun during a road-rage incident in the area, police said shortly before 11:30 a.m.

Officers found the suspect's vehicle at the Nordstrom department store parking lot located near Sand Hill Road between Vineyard Lane and Arboretum Road, police said.

Roads blocked off during the search have reopened, according to police.

The store was under a lockdown for precautionary reasons until about 11:45 a.m., according to police. The suspect was described as an Asian man in his 20s with a goatee and wearing a dark blue dress shirt with embroidery on the front, according to police. Anyone who saw him was asked to call 911.

Officers are looking for a possibly armed man at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto where a department store is under lockdown this morning, police said.

The suspect brandished what may have been a handgun during a road rage incident in the area, police said shortly before 11:30 a.m.

Officers found the suspect's vehicle at the Nordstrom department store parking lot, police said.

Palo Alto police said the suspect is described as an Asian male, in his 20s, with a goatee and wearing a dark blue dress shirt with embroidery on the chest.

The store is under a lockdown for precautionary reasons, according to police.

Anyone who sees the suspect in the shopping mall area is asked to call 911, police said.
