PALL Titans beat Belmont Blue Jays 11-6

Thoits Brothers Titans move to the 2nd round in the District 52 5070 Championship Tournament

June 1, 2016; Ralston Field, Belmont. Malia Wanderer masterfully limited the Blue Jays to 3 hits with her devastating off-speed pitches, inducing 8 infield popups and lazy fly balls to the outfield over 4 innings. JP Conrad, Cory Hallada, and Spencer Soohoo quieted the Belmont fans by playing outstanding defense. Titans 2nd baseman Anand Joshi made the throw of the game doubling a Belmont runner at third after a quick relay from the outfield. The hardest Belmont hit was a blazing hot comebacker that Wanderer short- scooped and threw to first for the out. Ted Jung pitched no-hit ball the last 2 innings to secure the win in this single-elimination tournament.

The Titans timely offense was led by Conrad and Zaid Ball (both going 2 for 4). Finn Hadly, Ted Jung, and Wanderer added singles. Cory Hallada had a booming 2 run triple which is becoming a trademark of his. "With his speed, anything out of the infield is a multi-bag threat" commented Titans manager Craig Yanagisawa.

Next game for the Titans is this Friday at El Camino Field in Palo Alto featuring a rematch with the 2nd place Hillsborough team. Game time is 6:30pm.
