Palo Alto High Schoolers Plan 'Peace March' Today
Three high schools in nearby San Mateo also have planned walkouts this afternoon. (Breaking)

PALO, ALTO, CA – A "peace march" today is planned by local high school students in and around downtown Palo Alto, according to police.
Between noon and 6 p.m., traffic delays are possible in the area, especially along El Camino Real and University Avenue, the department said.
Also today in San Mateo, hundreds of area high school students from San Mateo, Hillsdale and Aragon high schools are planning a protest.

Demonstrators will head to Central Park for a meeting point.
"Students from the three schools have indicated that they will be walking out of their classes at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday ... to gather peacefully at Central Park in downtown San Mateo to express their views regarding the presidential election," a message from San Mateo Union High School District said.

"District staff will not prevent students from participating in any protest," San Mateo officials said. "However, teachers will indicate an unexcused absence in the student information system for students not in class."
