PALO ALTO, CA — Palo Alto Mayor Adrian Fine will not seek another term on the City Council, Palo Alto Weekly reports.

Fine cited personal and political reasons for his decision decline to seek another term, the report said.

He told the publication that he and his wife Jane, are expecting their first child later this year.

"That's so much more of a priority and life event than any campaign or election," Fine told Palo Alto Weekly.

Fine’s decision to run triggered an extension of the Aug. 7 deadline for another week, the report said.
