Palo Alto, Santa Clara County Report New Coronavirus Cases

All school districts in Santa Clara County and much of the Bay Area, officially canceled classes for the rest of the school year.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Santa Clara County reported 95 additional cases of the new coronavirus and three COVID-19-related deaths Wednesday, according the Santa Clara County Public Health's website.

The county has reported 1,380 COVID-19 cases, however officials believe that total represents just a fraction of the actual number of infected persons in the county due to limited testing.
The county has reported 46 known coronavirus deaths.

Deaths in California are approaching 400, with 397 included in the official count by Johns Hopkins University. There are 16,429 confirmed cases in the Golden State, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Nationwide, New York, New Jersey, and Michigan all have more confirmed cases than California. The total number of confirmed cases in the U.S. shortly before midnight is just shy of 400,000. The U.S. death toll is now 12,910.
