Palo Alto Thoits Brothers Titans vs Hillsborough LL
PALL records a long-awaited victory over Hillsborough Little League in their first 5070 divisional meeting
If you have followed local little league baseball for the past 10 years you would know that Hillsborough has always had Palo Alto's number.
Yesterday saw a rare victory by PA's Thoits Bros. Titans over mighty Hillsborough in their first-ever 5070 divisional meeting of this spring. Hillsborough's record was 6-3 entering the game while the Titans were struggling at 3 and 7. But the Titans were coming off a recent 8-4 win over San Carlos where their bats started to come alive. Defense, though was the key against Hillsborough. 8 potential LL home runs were caught in the new larger El Camino park fielded by Titans outfielders; Finn Hadly, Cory Hallada, and Spencer Soohoo. "At Middlefield Ballpark, those are gone," commented Mark Burton, Titans coach and former PALL president. Finn also led the Titans offense going 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a single.
Lights out pitching from Connor Low (4K's) and Cory Hallada (3K's) limited Hillsborough to 2 runs. Malia Wanderer efficiently closed out the 7th with 6 pitches. The Titan's infield defense was led by shortstop JP Conrad and anchored by Tyler Ostrom at 1st base.

"Hillsborough always has good at bats and their leadoff hitter (#2 Lee) gave us a fit all day," complimented Titans manager Craig Yanagisawa, '"but our defense played mistake-free baseball."
