Palo Alto's Parking Attendant Program Expands
Two Additional Downtown Parking Garages Added.

News from the City of Palo Alto:
In an ongoing strategic effort to address the City’s parking and traffic challenges, specifically in Downtown Palo Alto, the City of Palo Alto will be implementing the Parking Attendant Program at two additional Downtown garages this month. The Parking Attendant Program will begin Sept. 8, 2015 at the Bryant/Lytton parking garage and Sept. 14, 2015 at the Civic Center parking garage. The expansion of the Parking Attendant Program at the Bryant/Lytton and Civic Center garages would allow for 50 additional vehicles to be parked at each garage, providing capacity for 100 total additional vehicles.
The Parking Attendant Program is already in place at the Alma/High Street garage (Lot R). Since the program launched, it successfully increased the number of permitted vehicles, 40 on average that parked during business hours.

The Parking Attendant Program will be in operation from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. A valet operator will guide motorists where to park in the garage, including in drive aisles. Only motorists who park in the drive aisles will be required to leave their keys with the valet operator. The valet operator will provide a claim ticket for the keys and secure keys in a locked key box. The valet operator may be required to move the vehicle during the day into marked parking spaces for retrieval by the owner at the end of the day.
When the Parking Attendant Program begins at the Bryant/Lytton and Civic Center parking garages, vehicle owners must claim their keys by the 6 p.m. closing time. Vehicle owners that do not claim their keys before the closing time will not be able to retrieve their keys until the following business day, no exceptions.
