Rooftop Prowler Busted In Palo Alto: Police

Mountain View and Stanford law enforcement joined the hunt for the felon wanted from Los Gatos after he slipped over a fence.

PALO ALTO, CA – A man reportedly prowling on a rooftop in Palo Alto was arrested Monday after a chase that involved local police agencies, according to authorities.

The suspect, later identified as Mark John Harmon, 50, a Los Gatos resident and wanted felon, allegedly was spotted by a resident at about 5:30 a.m. walking on a neighbor's garage roof on the 500 block of Oxford Avenue, the Palo Alto Police Department said.

Arriving officers saw the man and ordered him to come down, but instead he jumped down from the rooftop on the opposite side of where police were and disappeared over a fence, the department said.
