Gruesome Crash in Palo Alto Kills Motorcyclist
A lane-splitting motorcyclist was killed on Highway 101. The details are awful.

PALO ALTO, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with two other cars on U.S. Highway 101 near Oregon Expressway in Palo Alto Thursday morning, according to CHP Officer Eric Anderson.
The motorcyclist was traveling between the two far left lanes and collided with a Chevrolet Equinox in the leftmost lane. The motorcyclist lost control of the bike, was ejected and landed on the road, and was run over by a flatbed truck. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Anderson said.

A Sig-alert was issued at 9:46 a.m. with all northbound lanes closed south of Oregon Expressway. The road was closed for more than an hour, snarling traffic.
