Woodside Fire Smoke Visible In Palo Alto
BREAKING: The vegetation fire was burning Tuesday morning near the El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve.

SAN FRANCISCO PENINSULA AREA, CA — A fire near the El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve west of Woodside was generating smoke visible to Palo Alto and Stanford Tuesday morning. Smoke from the vegetation fire in the hills nears Woodside could be visible for some time, officials with San Mateo County said in an email alert.
"Fire crews are working on extinguishing a fire that can be seen in the western hills near Skyline and upper Bear Gulch Road," officials stated in the alert. "Increased smoke will be visible in the area for some time this morning. Aircraft will be seen assisting in the fire operations."
Palo Alto police took to Twitter to advise local residents of the situation.
