The Congregational Oratorio Society performs songs popular during the American Civil War or based on poetry written during the war.

The Congregational Oratorio Society, conducted by Gregory Wait, performs songs that were popular during the American Civil War or that are based on poetry written during the war. The concert includes
- Popular songs from the Civil War period by Stephen Foster, Julia Ward Howe, William Steffe, George Root, Louis Lambert, and others
- “A Procession Winding Around Me” -- poetry of Walt Whitman set to music by Jeffrey Van
- Selections from “Songs of the Slave” by Kirke Mechem
Soloists are
- Charles Ferguson, guitar
- Stan Neff, baritone
- Joe Guthrie, piano
