Stanford Health Receives $16.8M FEMA Vaccination Grant

STANFORD, CA — Stanford Medical Center received a $16.8 million grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to distribute and administer COVID-19 vaccines at six Bay Area sites.

The funds will cover the health care systems expenses for personal protective equipment and facility costs among other supplies associated with cost of storing, handling, transporting and administering the vaccines, FEMA said in a news release.

Additional funding will be for other documented expenditures, FEMA said.

“FEMA continues working with our partners ─ including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other federal agencies ─ along with state, tribal and territorial authorities, private sector partners and others to assist, augment and expedite vaccinations in the United States,” FEMA said in a statement.

“We remain committed to helping Americans in their time of need and will continue to work with our partners to stop the spread of this disease.”
