Teen Arrested In Connection With Burglary Of Occupied Palo Alto Home
Police arrested a 15-year-old girl on suspicion of breaking into a home under the influence of narcotics.
PALO ALTO, CA — Police arrested a 15-year-old girl on suspicion of several crimes, including breaking into a Palo Alto home at night.
The girl was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, possession of narcotics and being under the influence of narcotics. She is also accused of providing false information to police, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.
Police said she said was returned to the custody of a parent after she was released from a hospital.

Officers responded on Saturday at 9:27 p.m. to the 100 block of Ferne Avenue on a report from a resident that a person had come into her home.
The resident, in her 60s, locked herself in a room and the suspect fled.

Police found a suspect about a half a block away, where she was detained without incident.
The girl is accused of walking through an open rear sliding door of the home, which woke the resident up.
The resident said the teenage girl was laughing at her as she yelled for her to leave the house. The girl never said anything to the victim and did not steal anything from the home, police said.
The victim was not injured during the incident, police said.
Officers determined that the girl was under the influence of narcotics and alcohol. She was also accused of possessing methamphetamine and marijuana. She was taken to a hospital due to her "level of intoxication," police said.
The girl also gave false information to officers about her identity. They were able to identify her as a 15-year-old who had run away from her home in Carmichael in Sacramento County several days before. Her parents thought hose ad been staying in the South Bay, but they were unable to confirm her wherabouts, police said.
The girl was cited for residential burglary, three misdemeanors: possession of narcotics, being under the influence of narcotics and providing false information to police.
No additional information on the suspect or her identity was available due to her age.
