Webster House Health Center Receives 4 Star Rating
Webster House excels in RN Staffing and Quality Measures

In January 2016, Webster House Health Center (WHHC) was awarded an overall four-star rating out of a possible five by the Centers for Medicare Services (CMS). The Five-Star Quality Rating System helps consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing homes easily and help identify areas of strength or weakness for each community. WHHC's four star designation is a great accomplishment that speaks to the quality of the facilities, services, programs and staff.
The overall rating was broken down into individual categories. Webster House Health Center scored a perfect five out of five stars on RN Staffing and Quality Measures, while scoring four stars on other Staffing. These components were weighted and combined to total the overall four star designation.
Webster House Health Center has been treating patients for over 30 years, featuring a 145-bed facility with units for higher medical acuity care, dementia care and long-term nursing in private or double occupancy rooms. Under the guidance of Medical Director Dr. Peter Pompei, Clinical Professor of Medicine and former Director of the Geriatric Fellowship Program of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System and Stanford University, many patients have found an excellent quality of care and had overwhelmingly positive experiences.

"WHHC is an ideal health center because of the quality of the staff. They work very hard for the patients, and I'm very proud of all they do," said Dr. Pompei.
The Star Award is just the most recent of a series of accolades that Webster House Health Center has received in the past few years. This win comes soon after another distinction, the Rotary Club Award. The Rotary Club of Menlo Park awarded Webster House a grant to enhance the quality of life for its resident memory care program. The funds are being used for staff training and implementing pet, music and art therapies. These programs have been proven to be successful in decreasing depression, increasing socialization and improving hand strength to further promote resident independence.
