2 Backyard Intruders Caught On Camera In Palos Verdes Estates

PALOS VERDES, CA — Police are asking for the public's help identifying two suspects captured on a homeowner's surveillance camera after entering the side yard of a Palos Verdes Estates home early Wednesday.

According to the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department, the incident occurred at about 1:35 a.m. in the 3200 block of Via La Selva.

Police said the two suspects entered the property's side yard after opening a side gate. The homeowner heard people in the backyard and yelled that police were being called, prompting both suspects to immediately flee the property, according to the department.

The surveillance image released by police shows two people dressed in dark clothing with their faces partially covered while walking through the side yard.

Detectives are working to identify the suspects and determine whether they used a vehicle before or after the incident, police said.

Investigators are also asking nearby residents to review any surveillance or doorbell camera footage that may have captured the suspects or a vehicle in the area around the time of the incident.

Police also reminded residents to help protect their homes by securing gates, doors and windows, keeping exterior areas well lit and ensuring surveillance cameras are operating properly.
