2 Bodies Found In South Bay Channel In 2 Days: Report

CARSON, CA — A second body was recovered along the Dominguez Channel in Carson Wednesday morning, one day after another body was discovered farther north along the same channel, according to a report.

Los Angeles County firefighters and sheriff's deputies responded to the area of Sepulveda Boulevard and the Dominguez Channel at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a report of a body near the water, KTLA reported.

Authorities responded and recovered the body from the area, according to the station.

KTLA's Sky5 reporter Rich Prickett said from the scene that the person appeared to be a man, but authorities had not confirmed the person's gender or age as of Wednesday morning. The cause of death remained under investigation.

Wednesday's discovery was the second along the Dominguez Channel in Carson in two days.

Authorities were called just after noon Tuesday after another body was discovered in the channel farther north near Victoria Golf Course, according to KTLA. Sky5 was over that scene at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities had not released identifying information about that person, including their gender or estimated age and the cause of death remained under investigation. It has not yet been determined whether the two cases are connected.

No further details were immediately available.
