2 Peafowl Killed in Rolling Hills Estates, Bringing Killing Spree to 53
Someone has been killing the exotic birds in the Palos Verde, Rolling Hills Estates area.
Two peafowl recently found dead in the Palos Verdes area brings to 53 the number of the birds discovered dead or injured in the Rolling Hills Estates area since 2012, authorities said today.
The latest discovery was made near Eastvale Road and Bolan Lane. Multiple pellets were found in both birds, said Ana Bustilloz of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles, which is asking for the public’s help in finding the perpetrators.
The most recent bird killings were in the same area where a suspect fired a pellet gun, killing a peacock last July, she said. That person, who remains at large, was described as a white man in his 50s, wearing aviator- style sunglasses and driving a silver Mercedes-Benz sedan.
