The Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Karin Conklin as its new Executive Director and Stacey Girard as the organization's new Vice President of Operations and Events.
Conklin was previously the Vice President of Membership. Girard has been elevated to her new role from the position of Business Manager. Together, they form the new operational core of the Chamber's leadership team.
The moves were announced April 23.
"The promotion recognizes not only Conklin's leadership, but the collective effort of a dedicated team that has quietly transformed the organization over the past year," the organization wrote in a statement.
Since Conklin joined the Chamber in April 2025 as VP of Membership, the Chamber has added more than 70 new members, thus restoring financial stability and helping raise the Chamber's profile across the Peninsula.
As Executive Director, Conklin will oversee all chamber operations, membership and lead the organization's strategic priorities across Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Rancho Palos Verdes and Palos Verdes Estates.
2026 marks the Chamber's 70th anniversary, and the team has a busy schedule of events ahead, including the 38th Annual Palos Verdes Street Fair & Music Festival, the State of the Peninsula Breakfast, and a business expo planned for September at Norris Pavilion.
"My focus is to ensure that every member feels heard and fully supported by this Chamber," Conklin said in a statement. "I truly believe that by working together, our most successful and collaborative chapter is just beginning."
