Arrests Rise In Latest Monthly Crime Report For One South Bay City

The number of arrests made in Palos Verdes Estates rose slightly this January compared to the same month last year, statistics show.

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA — The number of arrests in this South Bay city rose about 10% this January compared to the same month last year, newly released statistics show.

According to data released by the city March 6, there were 20 arrests this past January, compared with 17 in January 2025. The majority of the arrests, seven, were for driving under the influence, or DUI.

There were also three arrests for drug/narcotic violations in January and one arrest each in various categories, including vehicle theft and weapons violations.

The total number is up from the 17 arrests that took place in January, 2025. In that month, there were four larceny arrests, three arrests for theft from a motor vehicle -- which differs from theft of a vehicle itself -- and three drug arrests.
