Burglary, Embezzlement: Palos Verdes Estates Weekly Crime Report

Here is the weekly crime report for Jan. 8 through Jan. 14.

PALOS VERDES, CA – Here is the weekly crime report provided by the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department for crimes reported from Jan. 8 through Jan. 14. It was prepared by Sandy Marchese, a Police Volunteer Coordinator for PVEPD.

  • Jan. 8: Vehicle Embezzlement in the 100 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
    • At approximately 4:37PM, dispatch advised officers of an ALPR (Automated License Plate Reader) hit for an embezzled vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving on a suspended license and vehicle embezzlement.
  • Jan. 9: Burglary-Vehicle in the 1100 block of Via Curva
    • Sometime between Jan. 7 and Jan. 9, unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s locked vehicle by smashing the front passenger window and removed miscellaneous property.
  • Jan. 9: Vehicle Theft in the 3000 block of Palos Verdes Drive North
    • At approximately 12:59 AM, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for evading and felony vehicle theft.
  • Jan. 9: Vandalism in the 1100 block of Via Coronel
    • Sometime between 10:00 PM on 01/08/19 and 9:00 AM on 01/09/19, unknown suspect(s) shattered the vehicle’s front passenger window. No property taken.
  • Jan. 11: Impaired Driver in the 900 block of Via Coronel
    • At approximately 11:33 PM, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.
  • Jan. 12: Burglary in the 700 block of Via La Cuesta
    • At approximately 6:40PM, officers responded to a residential burglary in progress. Suspects shattered a glass door on the top story and entered residence. When the reporting party entered residence, the suspects fled to nearby parkland. No property taken.
  • Jan. 14: Burglary in the 2600 block of La Costa Place
    • Sometime between 5:30 PM on 01-12-19 and 9:15 AM on 01-14-19, unknown suspect(s) gained access to the residence. Suspect(s) removed victim’s construction equipment.
  • Jan. 14: Warrant Arrest in the 2500 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
    • At approximately 12:52 AM, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for outstanding warrants and driving on a suspended license.
