As we explore the native coastal sage scrub habitat, we will also have the unique opportunity to see concrete observation stations built in the late 1920s to support the 14” guns at Ft. MacArthur, view what remains of a dual 6” gun battery built during WW ll and visit one of the best preserved Cold War-era Nike missile launch sites in the country. Moderate to Strenuous. (Meet in front of the RPV City Hall flagpole area) This is a moderate to strenuous hike and sturdy shoes are recommended. Admission is free and open to all.
