RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — The 2020 election is heating up in Los Angeles County, and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office. Eyes are primarily focused on the presidential election, but voters will also decide the outcome of state representative and senate seats.

Infrastructure: use grant writers to find/raise money from outside community

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

None: We all love our library and what it does for our community.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)

No one running has failed our community.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform

Finding ways for our library to serve our +55 communities.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Any Board is involved in Planning and Scheduling and I have 15 years direct experience at Northrop, including cost forecasting.

If you win this position, what accomplishment would make your term in office as a success?

Completing the infrastructure needs of our libraries.

Why should voters trust you?

I'm a listener and more important, a compromiser in these polarized times.

What are your views on fiscal policy, government spending and the use of taxpayer dollars in the office you are seeking?

We are over 90% funded by property taxes; need to spend on 'needs' not 'wants.'

Is there any reason you would not serve your full term of office, other than those of health or family?

No

The best advice ever shared with me was ...

Listen, listen, listen then compromise, compromise, compromise; make your decision then take everyone out for a beer!

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

Been I community since 1974, raised 4 boys, past Scoutmaster, Episcopal Deanery President, Church Jr and Sr Warden; use system engineering principals for major deciosns (ie, consider all factors in the total environment).
