Did You Feel That Earthquake?

A 3.9 temblor struck off the Orange and Los Angeles county coastlines Monday night.

PALOS VERDES, CA — Residents from South Orange County to the northern tip of Los Angeles were awoken early Tuesday by a magnitude 3.9 earthquake off the coast.

The earthquake struck at midnight in the Pacific Ocean, 48 miles south-southwest of Rancho Palos Verdes and 16 miles northwest of San Clemente Island, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

Hundreds of residents reported feeling the shaking from Dana Point to Los Angeles.
