Enter To Win 'Hamilton' Tickets With A Candidate For Governor

California State Treasurer John Chiang is hosting the competition to spend quality time with Californians during his statewide road trip.

PALOS VERDES, CA – Gubernatorial candidate John Chiang is hosting a contest on his social media platforms to offer a chance to see the Broadway play "Hamilton" with him on Nov. 1. The contest is part of Chiang’s campaign efforts of spending quality time with Californians during his statewide road trip. California is the sixth largest economy in the world, according to the press release, so Chiang intends to stress the importance of fiscal responsibility and his good monetary judgement by drawing similarities between himself and Alexander Hamilton.

Both Hamilton, the first Secretary of Treasury, and Chiang, California’s 33rd State Treasurer, are sons of immigrants with law degrees, and have dealt with big financial crises. Hamilton famously addressed the United States’ first economic collapse, known as the Economic Panic of 1792 and Chiang, as then the State Controller, helped California come out of the Great Recession of 2008-2009, the press release said.

Hundreds of Californians have already entered to win tickets to see the play with Chiang – the contest closes Oct. 25, so if you'd like to enter to win to tickets to see "Hamilton" with the governor candidate, click here.
