Arsenic and Old Lace

A smash hit when it was first produced on Broadway in 1941, this wickedly funny, madcap masterpiece about a wildly eccentric family, which includes two elderly sisters who poison lonely men with their homemade elderberry wine, is one of the most popular American stage plays of all time. A film adaptation, directed by the legendary Frank Capra, and starring Cary Grant, became an international box office success.
